Sophomore inspire week(SIW) is a week for students to delve into learning about post-secondary education and careers while learning about their aptitudes and comparing that to what they like to do in general. For the last three days of the week the students split into separate mini internships, the purpose of the internship is to help students evaluate their aptitudes in the field and discover what they like. This is a great precursor to the junior LINK internship we will have next year, by doing these mini internships we can know what we like to do and avoid internships with tasks that we didn't enjoy. For my internship, I went to the Weaslskin farm and equestrian center, where we spent our three days experiencing life on a farm, working with horses, and learning about the ecological, archaeological, and cultural significance of conservation. Jenifer, the owner of the land gave us the task to think about what we would do with her land, all 700 acres of it if we owned it thinking in a business-like way.
